Ruth Storey

Ruth Virginia Hood Storey, 93, a loving wife, mother and mamaw, passed away Saturday, June 9, 2018, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Booneville. She was born May 2, 1925, to Duerell “DR” and Mary Jane Johnson Hood. She a Member of Pisgah United Methodist Church since 1940, and was a UMW member for many year. She loved her church family. She worked for Brown Shoe Company for many years and Pisgah Head Start as head cook for 13 years. She enjoyed reading the Bible, reading the newspaper, working Find-A-Word puzzles, she loved spending time with her family and watching her grandchildren play sports. She was saddened when she could no longer go and watch them play.

A celebration of life service will be 11:00 A.M. Monday, June 11, 2018, at McMillan Funeral Home with Bro. Danny Estes and Bro. Kerry Powell officiating. Burial will be in Pisgah Cemetery.

She is survived by two daughters, Sue (Jimmy) Storey Maddox and Melissa (Billy) Storey Spencer; one son, Michael “Mickey” (Barbara) Storey; one brother, Bobby Wayne Hood; six grandchildren, Vicki (Bill) Crumpton, Paula (Fiancé, Corby Kyle) Storey, Mitchell (Pam) Maddox, Jennifer (Brandon) Jackson, Bryson Spencer and Zachary Spencer; and five great-grandchildren, Courtney Storey, Averi-Anna Jackson, Kenzie Ruth Jackson, Waylon Howard Kyle and Jolie Grace Johnson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Storey; her parents; one sister, Inis Hood Storey; and one brother, Clarence Hood.

Visitation will Sunday from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
