Minnie Ravenelle (Moore) Johnson, 95, went to be with her Lord on August 8, 2023, at Avon Lea in Tupelo, Mississippi. She was born June 26, 1928, to E. L. Moore and Grace (Langford) Moore. She was a lifelong resident of the New Site community and was a graduate of the 1946 class of New Site High School. During that time, she participated in school activities and met her high school sweetheart, Ray.
On February 4, 1947, after his return from service in the army during WWII, they were married. She was a loving and devoted wife for their 72 years together. She lived her life as an epitome of Proverbs 31 with a strong love and dedication to God, her family, friends, and those who were in need. She was a member of Crestwood Baptist Church in Booneville, Mississippi, where she served in a number of ministries. She was an exceptional cook who enjoyed preparing meals for family, friends and church gatherings. She enjoyed gardening, canning, and quilting. She touched many lives by her words of wisdom and encouragement. It could be said she was always a “cheerleader.” She was a strong advocate for education.
She is survived by two sons, Stuart (Brenda) Johnson of Tupelo; Mark Johnson of Boston, Massachusetts, four grandsons, David Johnson (Tiffany) of Boonville; Mississippi; Heath Johnson (Julie) of Franklin, Tennessee; Kirk Johnson of Lexington, Kentucky; and Cayce Johnson of Booneville, Mississippi, two step granddaughters, Shelley Farmer (Chase) of Tupelo, Mississippi; Kinney Ferris (Michael) of Oxford, Mississippi; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Ray Johnson; one son, Stephen Brent Johnson; her parents, E. L. and Grace Moore; one sister, Sybil Lavelle Riddle; and three brother-in-laws, Adrian Boyd Riddle, Roy Melvin Johnson and J. V. (Jay) Johnson.

Pallbearers will be David Johnson, Heath Johnson, Kirk Johnson, Michael Ferris, Chase Farmer, and Jonathan Riddle.
A celebration of her life will be held at McMillan Funeral Home in Booneville, Mississippi on Friday, August 11, 2023 at 1:00 P.M with Reverend Rob Armstrong officiating, graveside services will follow at New Site Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. on Friday at the funeral home. In her memory donations may be sent to Crestwood Baptist Church, P. O. Box 172, Booneville, Mississippi 38829.
