Martha Ellen Inman Williams, 88, of Thrasher born August 10, 1935 – December 21, 2023 is now at peace in her eternal heavenly home worshiping her heavenly Lord and Savior. She has joined the love of her life, Hershel Harold Williams, her earthly father, Troy Clinton Inman, her mother, Ruby Vera Houck Inman, and her sister, Louise Inman Daughtery.
Martha is survived by her four daughters Linda Williams Johnson (Gary), Margaret Williams Buse (Bill), Brenda Williams, and Tammy Jo Williams Chase (Scott), seven grandchildren Jennifer Johnson Harwood (Brandon), Stephanie Rowsey VanWinkle (Luke), Barrett Rowsey (Dianna), Mark Johnson (Diane), Emily Johnson Vandiver (Dallas) , Holly Chase, and Will Chase, and eleven great grandchildren Bailey Morici, Kennedy VanWinkle, Ruby Vandiver, Layton Rowsey, Lily Harwood, Mia VanWinkle, Lyza Rowsey, Betsy Vandiver, Ruby Vandiver, Charlotte Vandiver, and Sadie Johnson.
Martha Inman Williams was employed by several businesses in the Booneville area including Peoples Bank and Trust, Murphy’s International Tractor Company, and Booneville Head Start before opening her own private kindergarten program in Thrasher. She was a Christ follower and dedicated member of Gaston Baptist Church. She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and homemaker. She enjoyed participating in her Sunday school class, the Gaston WMU, Pisgah Homemakers Club, sewing, gardening, and being with her personal family as well as her church family. She grew up in the Thrasher community and graduated from Thrasher High School in 1952 and she continued to be an avid lover of Thrasher where she spent the majority of her 88 years.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband and her sister.
A Celebration of Life will be at 3:00 P.M. on Saturday, December 23, 2023 at Gaston Baptist Church with Dr. Dallas Vandiver officiating and music performed by Bro. Marty Hurt. Visitation will be from 1:00 P.M. until 3:00 P.M. on Saturday, December 23, 2023 at the church. Burial will be in the Magnolia Gardens.
Pallbearers will be her Sons- in-laws Gary Johnson, Bill Buse, Scott Chase and grandsons Barrett Rowsey, Mark Johnson and Will Chase.
