Rufus Dexter Tennyson, 84, died Thursday, May 26, 2011, at his home. He was born December 16, 1926, to Rufus Marshall and Rosie South Tennyson. He was a member of Wheeler Baptist Church. He enjoyed yardwork, woodworking and working in his shop.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, May 28, 2011, at the McMillan Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Johnny Hancock officiating. Burial will be in Prentiss Memorial Gardens.
He is survived by his wife, Vertie Mae Samples Tennyson; one daughter, Belinda Alexander of Bartlett, TN; three brothers, Wallace Tennyson, Archie Tennyson and Dude Tennyson; and four grandchildren, Kim Alexander, Amy Pazdera, Brian Holloway and Jarred Holloway.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Janet Crowder; his parents; two sisters, Maverine and Christine Tennyson; and four brothers, Truman, Clayton, Herbert and Ellis Tennyson.
Pallbearers are Brian Holloway, Jarred Holloway, Paul Barnes, Terrell Boren, Randy Roberts and Wesley Moore.
Visitation will be from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home.
