Rustico was raised with two siblings. He had one brother, Luis and one sister, Maria. Rustico was usually involved in all sorts of activities with his siblings. He and his siblings experienced rivalries typical of a growing family, but they shared many special life experiences over the years.
A typical teenager, Rustico had a fairly happy high school experience, making that critical transition from adolescence to adulthood. He graduated from Davao High School in 1952. He enjoyed some classes more than others, having favorite subjects and teachers.
Rustico enjoyed his college years as well, which may have been a challenge with all of the academics and responsibilities, but he was able to manage the balancing act. He earned his Business Administration degree.
On June 20, 1958 Rustico exchanged wedding vows with Gemina Corpuz. Empathic and loyal, Rustico was committed to making his new family happy.
Rustico worked hard to be a good father to his children and he did his best to fulfill their needs. Rustico was blessed with three children, daughters, Diane, Jeanette and Cindy. Another blessing for Rustico was the gift of three grandchildren, Rhianna, Amber, Tyler and one great grandchild, Lillian.
Fortunately, Rustico enjoyed what he did for a living. Showing a strong work ethic, Rustico worked diligently and did his best to succeed in his careers. His primary occupation was serving the United States Navy as Chief and later in life becoming a Realtor. He was employed for more than 20 years by the United States Navy. Rustico always sought to be a team player, doing what was necessary in order to get the job done.
Sadly, Rustico passed away due to heart failure. He is survived by wife; Gemina Egay; children, Jeanette Egay, Cindy Egay; grandchildren, Rhianna Casora, Amber Dumaoal and Tyler Anson; as well as great granddaughter Lillian Dumaoal. Services were held at St. Charles Catholic Church on September 4, 2010. Rustico was laid to rest in Glen Abbey Memorial Park in Bonita, California.
Simply stated, Rustico was a good and kind person, an individual who will for all time be remembered by his family and friends as being a caring and giving person, someone who was a vital part of their lives. Rustico leaves behind him a legacy of life-long friendships and many cherished memories. Everyone whose life he touched will always remember Rustico E. Egay Jr.
