Survived by five children: Ronnie Avila, Frank Avila, Gary Avila, Michael Avila, Laura Avila, 12 grandchildren, and 22 great grandchildren.

Resident of San Diego from 1962 to 2023.

Retired from San Diego City Schools after 29 years of employment, September 6, 1968, to June 12, 1997.

Parishioner of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in North Park.

She had a deep faith and love of God and felt a special relationship with the Virgin Mary.

She loved spending time with her family, cooking, and gardening.

She will be loved and missed for her unconditional love for her children and her family.

A visitation for Rebecca will be held Monday, November 27, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Glen Abbey's Chapel of the Roses, 3838 Bonita Road, Bonita, CA 91902. A funeral service will occur Tuesday, November 28, 2023 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM, 3838 Bonita Road, Bonita, CA 91902. A reception will occur Tuesday, November 28, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Glen Abbey's Orchid Pavilion, 3838 Bonita Road, Bonita, CA 91902.
