Donald Madden

Donald was born on May 16th, 1929 in Boulder Colorado to Sylvanus Bud Madden and Perie Lee Bottome. Donald grew up in San Francisco, which he always considered home, and attended Sacred Heart Cathedral High School, where he played football. A Korean War veteran, Donald was an in field radio operator. After serving his country, Donald met Beverly Music, married her and adopted her 2 children Vickie and Stanley. He had four more children with Beverly; Debbie, Donald Jr, Yvonne and Shellie. Donald and Beverly divorced soon after their youngest was born and Donald raised his six children on his own.

Donald worked for the State of California Dept of Motor Vehicles for 35 years, where he met his second wife Frances Gutierrez. They married in 1971 and Frances and Donald had three more children; Christina and Martie, who are twins and Patrick, his youngest son.

Donald had many joys in life, namely football and golf. He also enjoyed gardening and water skiing.

Donald is survived by his children Debbie, Donald Jr, Yvonne, Shellie, Christina, Martie and Patrick and dozens of grandchildren and great grandchildren. Donald is preceded in death by daughter Vickie, son Stanley and wife of 50 years, Frances.

Memorial services for Donald will be on Friday December 16th, 2022 at Glen Abbey Memorial Park at 1:00PM in the Chapel of the Roses, followed by an internment and small reception.
