Alan Neff May was born on January 27th, 1962 to his proud parents Ivan Kenneth and Louise Elizabeth May. He was raised in Connersville, Indiana with two brothers named Steve and Michael. He attended and graduated from Connersville High School in 1980 and later continued his education by attending San Diego City College and earning a degree from ITT Technical Institute in 2004.
As a young man, Alan met and fell in love with his sweetheart Nora Edith Muhlbach. The couple exchanged wedding vows on March 30, 1982 at the San Diego Courthouse. With empathetic and loyal hearts the two shared many happy and loving years of marriage.
While everything a person does in life contributes to who they grow into, it is ultimately this same person who holds the most influence on the next generation. Alan worked hard to be a good father to his children and he did his best to fulfill their needs. Alan was blessed with two children, Michael Neff Xavier and Consuelo Elizabeth. He worked hard toward raising his children in a positive and loving environment.
Fortunately, Alan enjoyed what he did for a living. Showing a strong work ethic, Alan worked diligently and did his best to succeed in each of his careers. Alan’s primary occupation was working as an estimator for NASSCO. In 1980, Alan had enlisted in The United States Navy and actively served until 1984. He was on the reserves from 1984-1986. During his time in the military, he earned various awards and received an education. He received two Sea Service Ribbons and attended M M Class A School.
Like all people, Alan had his favorite things in life. Alan loved to spend his time swimming, collecting baseball cards, playing Yuker, planting and gardening, listening to music, and cooking. He was known by his family as "The Best Cook Ever". He loved grilling steaks, corn, and baked potatoes and well as many other delicious foods.
Alan May left us on May 7th, 2011. He is survived by his loving family as well as many friends. A Memorial Mass was held on May 20, 2011 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Chula Vista, California.
Alan leaves behind him a legacy of lifelong friendships and many cherished memories. Everyone whose life Alan Neff May touched will always remember him with a smile.
