Sonny joined the US Army at the age of 15, during the Korean War. He received a Korean War medal from South Korea for his service. He told us many stories of being awakened by the sounds of artillery cannon fire and enduring the bitter cold as he slept in the field. After returning home, he worked for many years on a dredge, where he served as chief engineer.
He was a member of Faith Baptist Church, sang in the choir and also served as a deacon. We will always remember Daddy for his strong voice as he sang praises of glory and his awesome cinnamon rolls.
Visitation will be Thursday, August 6, 2015, from 6-8 pm at White Funeral Service in Supply. Funeral service will be Thursday, August 7, 2015 at 11 am at Faith Baptist Church in Bolivia. Interment to follow service at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
