Ronald Glenn Brown

Ron was born January 31, 1951 in Whitesburg, Kentucky, son of the late Dewey Roscoe Brown and Martha Eldridge Brown. He grew up in eastern Kentucky and met his wife at Morehead University. They were married at the age of nineteen. Soon after their marriage, they moved to Bolivia to be near family and his new career. He worked at DuPont for 27 years until retirement. After his retirement, he returned to UNC Charlotte to pursue his Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering. His work gave him the opportunity to travel especially to South America and Texas. He enjoyed gardening, reading, cooking, and spending time with his family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings, Ruth, Roberta, Russell, Roland, and Carol; his wife of 47 years, Sherry Brown.

Survivors include his children, Ronald Brown, II of Bolivia and Deidre Meares of Jacksonville; two grandchildren, Bridget and Fiona; siblings, Ralph, Rosa Lee, Robert, and Ruby; and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

A memorial service will be will be at eleven o'clock in the morning on Saturday, August 26, 2023 at Faith Baptist Church in Bolivia, NC.

The family will receive friends from ten o'clock until eleven o'clock at the church. A meal will follow the service.
