Michael Lee Lewis

Michael Lee Lewis, age 53, of Leland, NC passed away on Tuesday the twenty fourth of April 2018 at his home. Mike was born in Southport, NC on the twenty first of September, 1964 and was a son of the late Weston W. and Eppie Lee Lewis.

Mike was a carpenter by trade who could build anything. He worked in construction all of his adult life. He loved to create and build. Wood amazed him and there wasn’t a project or job that he couldn’t master and enjoyed the challenge. He loved fishing either by land or boat, rod and reel or nets. He also loved tournament fishing, as well as oystering and clamming any of which could be called his favorite. His passion was his family and friends; Mike loved the time spent with them.

A great husband, father, granddad, and friend all the way to the very end. An honest, hardworking, opinionated man. You wouldn’t find a better man or friend. Mike will be missed by many.

Mike is survived by his loving wife, Cheryl; daughters, Tracy Macomber and husband Ben, Samantha Poirier and husband Brandon; step-daughter, Felicia Malpass and Davon Robinson all of Leland, NC; five grandchildren, Hayden Poirier, Wyatt Macomber, Alanah Robinson, Savannah Macomber, Liam Poirier; one brother, Larry Ray Lewis and Carolyn Grice of Leland; two sisters, Teresa McKeithan and husband Billy of Ash, Lorie Gonzalez and husband Alex of Leland.

Pallbearers are Robert Sisson, Alex Gonzalez, Tyler Lewis, Allen Lewis, Lloyd Fields and Michael Fields.

You are cordially invited at a visitation with the family at White Funeral & Cremation Service, 603 Ocean Highway, East, Bolivia, NC from six o’clock until eight o’clock Friday evening and other times at the family home, 1194 Ivester Ct., Navassa, NC 28451.

Funeral services will be one o’clock in the afternoon on Saturday the twenty eighth of April 2018 in the White Funeral & Cremation Service Chapel, Bolivia/Supply Chapel with The Reverend Merle Martin officiating. Burial services will follow the chapel service in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Wilmington, NC.
