John Melvin Craig Sr.

Mr. Craig was born in Hickory, NC on October 9, 1935 and was the son of the late Clarence William Craig. Sr. and Elnora Eades Craig. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Clarence William Craig Jr. and Carlton E. Craig. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran. Mr. Craig worked for Simplex Time Recorder for 26 years and then owned and operated Carolina Time and Control for 15 years. He was co-owner and Broker for Craig Realty of Holden Beach. Mr. Craig was a charter member of Brunswick Islands Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Virginia M. Craig of the home; a son, John M. Craig Jr. and wife Kerry of Holden Beach; two grandchildren, Sylvia L. Craig and John M. Craig III of Holden Beach; a sister, Shirley Robinson of Newton, NC.

Funeral services will be held Saturday September 22, 2018 at eleven o’clock in the morning at Brunswick Islands Baptist Church with Reverend Rudy Ramphal officiating.

Entombment will follow in Oleander Memorial Gardens Lakeview Mausoleum, Bradley Dr., Wilmington at a later date.

Friends are invited to a time of visitation with the family at the church one hour prior to the service.

In lieu of customary remembrances the family request memorials be directed to Brunswick Islands Baptist Church, 1672 Mt. Pisgah Rd. Supply, NC 28462
