Barbara Lee Ferris

Barbara was born on April 29, 1944 and was the daughter of the late Neil and Mavis Ferris. She attended Berry College and participated in the Berry Choir. She was named Miss Berry College for 1963-1964. Barbara loved music, singing, animals and family. She became a licensed speech pathologist at Western Carolina University and spent several years traveling to various parts of the country for her job.

She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Lee Ferris; and niece, Lynn Ferris.

Barbara is survived by her brother, Douglas Ferris, of Fountain, NC; sister-in-law, Velma Ferris, of Calabash, NC; nephews, Mike Ferris, of Alabama, Jeff Ferris, of Virginia; niece, Kelly Carpenter, of Supply, NC; several great-nieces and nephews; and many friends.

A Memorial Service will be planned in the spring to scatter her ashes per her request.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the American Cancer Society or the Human Society in Barbara’s name.
