Sue, or “Elaine”, as she like to be called, was born on July 29, 1943, in Springfield Tennessee to Lon Murphy and Mary Alice Adams.
Elaine grew up in Pleasant View Tennessee and upon graduating from Coopertown High School attended Mid-State Baptist School of Nursing where she earned her Nursing degree.
Elaine moved to Boca Raton in the early 1960s to pursue her career as a nurse. She started as a recovery room nurse in Boca Raton Community Hospital while later transitioning to home health and working in a surgeons office. In the late 1990s she cofounded a medical billing company where she spent the remainder of her career.
She enjoyed traveling, boating, fishing, and hosting friends and family for the holidays. Her favorite past time was being a grandmother.
Elaine was preceded in death by her husband, Jerome Perkins Mangles.
She is survived by her sister, Anne Elliott, her brother Bill Murphy, her son Eric Lundgren, his wife Shely Lundgren, and her granddaughter Brooke Lundgren.
In lieu of flowers, Elaine asked that donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
