Raymond Stanley Rynk was born Roman Stanislaus Rynkiewicz in February, 1927 to parents Francis and Jozefina (Zgona) Rynkiewicz of Elizabeth, NJ.
Ray apprenticed and worked as a Tool and Die Maker for Singer Sewing Machine Co., in Elizabeth, NJ.
He was a Veteran of WWII, trained in the Navy Air Corps Fire Brigade in Atlanta, GA.
Ray earned a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from New Jersey Institute of Technology, a Master’s degree in Engineering Management from George Washington University, and certification for project management from Pennsylvania State University.
He married Arline Sayrs Rynk from Spring Lake, NJ on September 15, 1956, and they raised two sons, Barry Raymond and Evan Francis in Annandale, Virginia.
Ray worked for the United States’ Department of the Navy as a Mechanical Engineer on the Trident and Poseidon missile projects. After a 30-year career, Ray retired from the Department of the Navy in 1995 and moved to Boca Raton, FL.
Ray was preceded in death by his parents and his older brothers Edward and Anthony. He is survived by his wife Arline Sayrs Rynk, two sons Barry and Evan, daughters-in-law Grace and Carol, and grandsons Andrew and John Francis. Ray is also survived by his sisters-in-law Helen Rynk and his nieces and nephews JoAnn Scofield, Donna Schratweiser and Robert Rynk, Janice and Paul Rippas and Edward Rynk. Ray was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and uncle. He lived his life for his family, and he gave them confidence, hope, happiness and strength. He was a gentle man – caring and unselfish to the end. Ray was a life-long Redskins fan, and learned the game of golf at 75 years old. He was a reader, a gardener, a philosopher and a fixer of everything - a true engineer. Ray was a good man and loved by all who knew him; he will be greatly missed.
