Glenn Partin- 88, of Boca Raton, born February 12, 1927, in Miami FL (Fourth generation Floridian), passed away peacefully on Tuesday August 26, 2015. His beautiful wife, Joan Gavigan Partin, predeceased him in death in May 2002. Mr. Partin graduated from Miami Edison High School. He served in the United States Navy, where he was awarded the Purple Heart. He graduated from the University of Florida in 1952 with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, where he was also president of Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity. He has remained an avid Gator fan and an active member of the Alumni Association.
Mr. Partin’s banking career spanned over forty years. He served as Branch Manager, Regional Manager, Vice President and President at First Federal of Miami, Amerifirst Federal Savings and Loan and Northern Trust Bank. Mr. Partin was actively involved with various organizations: Jaycees Club, Rotary Club, United Fund, Y.M.C.A, Chamber of Commerce, Republican National Committee and of course, the Gator Club.
Three loving and devoted children survive Mr. Partin: Anne (Robert) Kimmey of Wellington, Glenn Partin, Jr. of Rockledge and Jeannie (Rory) Maxwell of Lake Worth. He was a very special “Papa” to Kelley, Sean, Ryan, Brendan, Erin and Jessica and a great-grandfather to three.
Friends may visit 6-8 pm, Tuesday September 1st at Babione Funeral Home, 1100 N Federal Highway in Boca Raton. A Mass celebrating his life will be held 11 am September 2nd, at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, Boca Raton. Arrangements are subject to weather.
