Alfred Joseph Vitanza, 74, passed away peacefully in his home in Delray Beach, FL, on July 22, 2013.
He was born in Manhattan, NY, on June 20, 1939.
He traveled the world during his four years in the U.S. Navy. He worked on several New York City building sites, including Kips Bay. He worked for the New York State Thruway for over 30 years, where he retired as a Building Maintenance Supervisor.
Al was a man of many talents; he could repair almost anything, and produced many beautiful pieces of furniture at his home in Washingtonville, NY, and later in Hawley, PA. He loved the country life, the outdoors, and, most importantly, his family. Al was a member in the U.S. Veterans and a Grand Knight in the Knights of Columbus.
Al is survived by his wife of 50 years, Evelyn (Wisinski); a daughter, Lynette Bellomo and husband, Michael of Boca Raton, FL; four sons: Michael of Vieques, PR, Jack of Spartanburg, SC, Dominick and wife, Svetlana of Milford, PA, Thomas and wife, Daniele of Fort Lauderdale, FL, and six grandchildren: Nickolaus, Nina, Alexander, Juliet, Victor, and Lucy; one brother, Joe Vitanza; two sisters: Carol Grillo and Joy Markovics and husband, Gus, and an aunt, Ann Mancuso; also surviving are several other family members, including cousins, nieces, nephews, and many special friends.
Interment was at South Florida National Cemetery, Lake Worth, FL
