Wilma Mae Cardwell, age 100, of Bloomington, passed away Thursday, August 29, 2024 at her residence. Born March 24, 1924 in Bloomington, she was the daughter of Harold and Elsie Mae (Bales) Baugh. She was a homemaker and a member of the Westside Church of Christ. She enjoyed doing needlework, reading her Bible, praying for her family and being a neighborhood walker.
Wilma is survived by her four daughters; Mary (Bill) Cramer, of Bloomington, Janet Sue Johnson, of Bloomington, Virginia Lee Brown, of Bloomington and Marsha Wilson, of Florence, Alabama, twelve grandchildren and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Cardwell, on March 24, 1998; two sisters, Helen Jean and Louise Baugh, two brothers, Lloyd Baugh and Morris Baugh and two sons-in-law, Dale Wilson and Arthur Brown.
The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 4 at 12 Noon at the Day & Deremiah-Frye Funeral Home in Bloomington. Friends may visit the family from 10:00 a.m. to 12 noon on Wednesday at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Valhalla Memory Gardens.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be given to the Area 10 Area on Aging or to I.U. Health Hospice.
