William “Taylor” Alsop, age 29, of Indianapolis, passed away Sunday (05/17/2020) at his residence. Born October 5, 1990 in Bloomington, Indiana, he was the son of William Thomas “Tom” Alsop and Lisa (Kern) Alsop. Taylor was kind, loving and full of life. He was charismatic, smart, handsome and had a smile that lit up any place he went, Taylor worked as a waiter and bartender at McCormick & Schmick’s Seafood and Steaks in Indianapolis. He graduated from Bloomington North High School, Class of 2009, where he was a member of the swim team. Taylor received his Associate Degree from Oakland City University. In his youth he was a member of the Bloomington Swim Club. Taylor had many lifelong and new friends which he considered his family. He enjoyed keeping physically fit and spending time with his rescue dog, Harper, the Frisbee Queen.
Taylor is survived by his loving parents of Bloomington, his sister Karli Alsop, of Indianapolis. maternal grandparents, Diana Orr of Muncie, Indiana and Keith Kern of Springfield, Ohio, many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Taylor was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, John Orr, paternal grandparents Mary Lou and William James Alsop, Uncle John Alsop. Taylor greatly missed friends who passed before him; Katie, Nick, Haley and Nate.
There will be a private memorial service held on Saturday, May 23 at the Day and Deremiah-Frye Funeral home with Pastor Aaron Taylor officiating. The family requests in lieu of flowers that you donate to your local food bank or animal shelter.
