Wilbur “Wayne” Wright, age 79 passed away at home with his wife, Terry and son, Scott by his side. Wayne enjoyed the simpler things in life, though he received a degree in welding from Ivy Tech, he found his calling to be in used furniture. He and his wife owned their own used furniture store called Wright’s Furniture for over 20 years. Wayne also had a love of landscaping. Wayne grew up in Indianapolis before making his way to Florida where he found more than sunshine, there he fell for his darling Terry and married her, and they shared 34 years together. Wayne was full of personality and had a passion and love of the Lord.
Wayne is survived by his wife and love, Terry, his five sons; Tony Wright, of Spencer, Chad Wright, of Indianapolis, Rocky Wright, of Dayton, Ohio, Scott Allgood, of Solsberry and Patrick Allgood, of Bloomington, one daughter, Darelletta Simon, of Bloomington, two brothers, Don (Necy) Wright and William Wright, both of Indianapolis, one sister, Ruth (Mike) Gooch, of Indianapolis and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford Glen and Mildred Wright, one sister, Dorothy Crenshaw and one brother, Bud Wright.
Graveside funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at Valhalla Memory Gardens with Rev. Michael Douglas officiating. Burial will follow after the service. There will no public visitation, but friends who wish to be a part of the procession to the cemetery may gather at the Deremiah-Frye Mortuary; 700 W. Gourley Pike at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday. Otherwise friends may join the family at 1:30 p.m. at the graveside.
