Jackie Sue Denton

Jackie Sue Denton passed away at IU Health Bloomington on Friday, October 21st, 2022. She was born on April 21st, 1957 in Troy, Ohio to Bill Hall and Joan Baker. On June 7th, 1974, Jackie married the love of her life, Rick Denton. Jackie also worked at Monroe County School corporation for the past 38 ½ years as a bus driver. She was employed from October 17th 1984 to May of 2022 and enjoyed getting to know the children on her bus route. Survivors include her husband (whom she always referred to as “Dear”), Rick Denton; her beloved sons, Ricky (Angie) Denton and Jase (Chrissy) Denton; siblings; Billy Hall, Debbie Haywood, Brenda (Sammy) Wagoner, Linda Perry, and Mike (Jan Browning) Bastin; grandchildren, Gavin, Alyssa (Brad) Osborne, Bryce (Katie) Denton, Aubree, Izzy, Vikki, and Eli; great grandchildren, Zoey and a new baby on the way; nieces, Brooke Starkes, Elizabeth Haywood, Joie Barnes, Destiny Haggerty, and Eva Sullivan; nephews, Kris Baker, Robbie Brock, Jeff Paynter, John Paynter, Tommy Kinley, Shane Hall, Adam Hall, Andy Hall, Matt Hall; great niece, Sarah Davis; great nephew, DJ (Nicole) Barnes; brother in law, Brian Hooten; uncle, Larry Baker; step-mother, Kay Bastin; and very close friend, Jennifer Butcher. Jackie is preceded in death by her parents, Bill Hall and Joan Baker; step-father Ezra Bastin; her aunt, Deanie; siblings, Denton Hall, Scottie Hall, and Ronnie Baker; brother-in-law, Glenn Perry, and nephews, Greg Hall and Robbie Hall. Jackie loved her husband of 48 years. She also adored her boys, grandkids, sisters, and nieces and nephews. Jackie was dedicated to her family and constantly made sure that everyone was taken care of. She was of the Apostolic Faith and a member at Landmark Church. A visitation will be held on Thursday, October 27th, 2022 from 4pm-8pm at Deremiah-Frye Mortuary (700 W. Gourley, Pike Bloomington, IN 47404). A funeral service will be held at the same location on Friday, October 28th, 2022 at 11am with burial to follow at Valhalla Memory Gardens. Pastor Rob Akers will be officiating.
