Coty Lee Davidson, 33 of Bloomington, Indiana, died in a tragic car accident on Friday, February 14, 2020 in Ocala, Florida. He was born June 6, 1986 to parents H. Steve Davidson and Tammie Payne Davidson. Coty was the owner of Davidson Racing, where he was the trainer to Thoroughbred Racehorses.
Survivors include his parents, H. Steve Davidson (April LeVay) and Tammie Allen (Roger Allen); grandfather, Harry Thurman; siblings, Steven “Turtle” Davidson, Chad Allen, Alex Davidson, Nick Davidson and Jacob Davidson; son, Ryder Cox (Davidson); daughter, Preslee Davidson; uncles, Tim Davidson, Tony Davidson and Tim Heaton; aunts, Brenda Weaver and Beverly Heaton; and nieces, Adeline and Savannah Davidson. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Robert Payne, Henry Davidson and Ed Yancey; grandmothers, Maxine Thurman and Phyllis Yancey; and aunts, Tina Hale and Dina Davidson.
Coty had a passion for Thoroughbred Racehorses and inspired to be a top trainer. He was known as one of the best in his industry and was quickly making a reputation in his business at Davidson Racing. He was often quoted as saying “There are no problems, only solutions.” Coty also had another passion bigger than Thoroughbreds; his family, especially his two children Ryder and Preslee. Coty had his own way of making people laugh and would not allow others to be in a bad mood.
Visitation will be held Monday, February 24, 2020 from 4:00 – 8:00 pm and 12:00 - 1:00 PM on Tuesday at Day and Deremiah-Frye Funeral Home – 4150 E. Third Street, Bloomington, Indiana 47401. Funeral Services will take place at 1:00 pm on Tuesday February 25, 2020 at Day & Deremiah-Frye Funeral Home followed by burial at Clear Creek Cemetery.
