He was born in Bloomington on April 20, 1926 to Herbert and Delia Alexander. He is survived by Joan, his beloved wife of 66 years, and loving children Angeila (Radel) and Stephen. He was preceded in death by a son Clarence R. Alexander Jr., his parents, brothers Herbert, Joseph and James, a sister Margaret, a grandson Andrew Radel, granddaughter Marijo Grant and son-in-law George Radel. He was grandfather to eight children and great grandfather to 12. He was a retired Bloomington Police officer and served proudly in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a member of B.P.O.Elks #446, St. Charles Catholic Church, American Legion Post #18, Am. Vets and Knights of Columbus where he was a Fourth Degree Knight. He was an avid fisherman who also enjoyed reading and traveling. FAMILY AND FRIENDS MAY CALL ON WEDNESDAY DECEMBER 28, 2011 FROM 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. AT DEREMIAH-FRYE MORUARY, 700 W. GOURLEY PIKE in Bloomington with a rosary being said on Wednesday at 8:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Thursday, December 29 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Charles Catholic Church in Bloomington.
