Bonnie Nichols (Ridge) Creech

Bonnie Nichols Creech passed away May 26, 2021. She was born in Monroe County, Indiana on November 10, 1929 to Jack and Doshia (Cox) Ridge. Bonnie graduated from University High School and married Ross Nichols in 1947. She worked in the School of Education Office from 1947 to 1952. They moved to Indianapolis in 1955 and lived in Beech Grove until 1976. They were busy with children’s activities and were active in Indianapolis Baptist Temple Church. Bonnie worked for many years at Quality Gage in Indianapolis. Sadly, Ross passed away in 1977. In 1984 Bonnie married Fred Creech and moved back to Bloomington. She was a member of the Northside Christian Church. She is survived by one daughter, Joyce Nichols and three sons, William (Kathy), Robert (Terri) and John (Teresa). Grandchildren are Amy Wasson, Chelsea English, William Nichols, Chris Nichols, Ross Nichols, Kylie Sanders, Joe Nichols, Julie Nichols, Sara Hardin, Rebecca Campana and step-granddaughter Kristie Kendall. Bonnie also had 14 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Bonnie is also survived by good friends John Misheikis and his family, Geneva Hughes, Ron and Florence Dunn and Joyce’s friend Hal McLaughlin. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Ross Nichols in 1977, husband Fred Creech in 1990, sisters Wanda Chandler, Doris Wanetta Stephens, Bernice Ingram and brothers Earl Ridge and Jerry Ridge. Bonnie enjoyed traveling the world and supporting the IU Basketball team. Funeral services to celebrate her life will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, June 3, 2021 at Day & Deremiah-Frye Funeral Home, 4150 East Third Street. Visitation will be held prior to the service on Thursday from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Graveside services will be held at 3:30 PM at Washington Park East Cemetery in Indianapolis, Indiana.
