Born in Salina, Kansas July 21, 1929 to gracious parents Cusil and Ellen. The little family went further west to the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. After high school, the adventurous Bill joined the United States Navy where he proudly served on the destroyer, the USS Ozbourn.
After serving, he married Evelyn Yvonne Lewis of Manitou Springs, Colorado. Together, their adventures continued on for the next 68 years until Evelyn's passing in July of this year
Bill attended the University of Denver to become an architect. Throughout his life he was a noted artist, painter, sculptor, also experimenting with light through stained glass.
Now survived by son Scott and wife Channie, daughters Susan Wright, and Patricia Eldert and her husband, Brad; 16 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
The Wright family wishes that in lieu of flowers, simply raise a “cup of joe” with your loved one, and toast: “Here’s to Ole’ Bill Wright, a good man.”
Bill lived in Normal but he was far from it. A real character, who never met a stranger.
