Pamela grew up in Bloomington-Normal, the younger of two children. She graduated from Normal Community High School and earned an Associates’ degree from Midstate College in Peoria. She loved children and provided in home daycare services and worked at Mulberry School in Normal. She also worked as a route supervisor for the Penny Saver Weekly News.
Pamela’s true joy and passion in life were her children and grandchildren, and their amazing circles of friends who created an extended family she truly treasured. She was an active, supportive and loving mother, volunteering at schools and swimming meets, including for the Redbird Swim Club, Normal Parks Sharks, Decatur Swim Club, and attending church at St. John’s Lutheran where she married Jim. Her fondest memories were seeing her children and grandchildren compete at swimming and track meets, play in soccer and basketball games, perform in music and dance recitals, and pursue their scholastic and athletic ambitions throughout Illinois and across the country. Pamela also loved animals, especially dogs, having rescued several for family pets. She will be greatly missed, particularly her positive spirit, joy for life, empathy and sympathy for all.
To honor Pamela’s love and joy for animals, memorials may be made to the Humane Society of Central Illinois, 423 Kays Drive, Normal, Illinois 61761, https://www.hscipets.org/donate/.
