Mary Alice Legg

Mary was born on September 28, 1924, in Argenta, the daughter of Phillip and Mamie Stevens Brown. She married Clarence Legg on June 6, 1943. He preceded her in death.

Surviving is her daughter, Sharon (Alan) Sylvester of Bloomington; 7 grandchildren, Amanda (Brandon) Whatley of Bloomington, Kristi (Kevin) Simpson of Downs, Mathew Sylvester of Normal, Justin (Jill) Smith of Bloomington, Jonathan Legg of Bloomington, Elizabeth Schopp of Bloomington, and Brian (Christine) Stewart of Bloomington; 9 great-grandchildren, Griffin and Gaven Stiles, Cole Sylvester, Tucker Smith, Luke Simpson, Kaden, Kennedy, Kyle and Khloe Stewart; a brother, Phillip Brown of Havana. She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Bonnie Smith; and a son, Phillip Legg.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at East Lawn Funeral Home in Bloomington. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will take place following the service at Hudson Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the donor’s choice.
