Mable Lean Scott

Mable was born January 11, 1936 in Tupelo, Mississippi, the daughter of Eddie Burns and Marie Griffin. She married William “Bill” Scott in Bloomington, IL.

Survivor’s include her children Alfreda Perry of Lincoln, IL; Christine Watkins of Normal, IL; and Stanley Scott of Illinois; Mabel was loved by many and an adoring grandmother to Antoinne and Antoinette of El Paso Texas whom she raised; grandchildren Marcus Jones of North Carolina; Jami Scott of Illinois; Danielle Hart of CA; Bria Boone of Peoria, IL; Ashley Gallagher of Savannah GA; Ryan Watkins of El Paso Texas; Christopher Shanine of CA; and Christian Scott of Bloomington, IL She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; siblings Eddie Burns; Louise Sample; Inell Collins all of East St. Louis; 2 grandsons Simeon Huff-Scott; and Antoinne Scott.

Mable retired as a Building Service Worker at ISU and The Unitarian Church. She was a Sgt. at Arms AFSCME Local 110. Mable was a member of the Ill-Mo Black Bowling League. She loved bowling and treasure hunting at consignment stores.

Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 am Thursday, May 5, 2016 UU Church of Bloomington Normal. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the church.
