I am so lucky I got to call Alfred Rodriguez my grandpa. He had a heart of gold and was always helping everyone. He was the sweetest man and always embraced us with love. His hugs were the best. I remember when he would take me to the store and he told me I could pick anything out. I had the ultimate kid in the candy shop memories with my grandpa. He always had animals and I can proudly say I get the love for animals from my grandpa. I was blessed to have had him in my life for all these years. My girls were able to share that love with their Great Grandpa.

We love you grandpa. We will greatly miss you. Until we meet again.

My dad was such a caring & loving man! He was always supportive and proud of his children  & grandchildren. He gave us the best hugs and showed us unconditional love. He was sweet, handsome & funny. He always loved to smile & laugh and make others smile & laugh too. I loved hearing his stories about his childhood and growing up in Mexico. He was a hard working man that took pride in his brick  work. I will miss his smile, his hugs, his laugh and our conversations about life. I feel blessed to be his daughter and to have had him in my life for 89 years! I have so many beautiful memories of my dad that will be with me forever! Until we meet again my sweet dad❤️

Tio Junie was a very kind and loving soul, he cared and loved everyone so much. Forever grateful that he got to meet my husband, who he always asked for when we would visit him. I hoped that he would be able to meet our child one day, I wish I could’ve told him how much we loved him before he rested. I’m happy that every time we got the chance to see him, we told him we loved him.  No matter what he went through, he always had joy and a smile on his face. He loved to hug, joke around, have a conversation with a bud light in his hand.  We miss you everyday, it won’t be the same without you. We have faith that we will see you again, and I hope it’s soon. We love you Tio Junie.

Growing up I recognized just how much my Grandpa enjoyed going to work just about everyday. At the end of the day Grandpa always had a hearty appetite and would usually dine out some place. If I was around Grandpa would often invite me to come along:) During one of these excursions my Grandpa described a place that made some enormous, and delicious burritos. So we took a trip out to Fontana and Grandpa parked near a field and some train tracks. The odd thing is, I didn’t see a restaurant, the only building around was a Korean mini mart/Liquor store. I’m thinking to myself Grandpa’s stopping to purchase a few bud-lights. Well to my surprise as we entered the store, there was actually a kitchen inside, and even though the Korean owners were at the register there were actually some Mexican cooks behind the line:) I don’t know how Grandpa came to find this hidden burrito haven but the burritos were some of the best I have tasted. I told Grandpa I was going to take him there when I get home in the last letter I wrote to him. I’ll always love my Grandpa and cherish the treasured memories I have of him!:) Sammy Guzman

I thank god for putting him in my life, giving me the opportunity to call him tio Junie. He always made sure I was doing good in school and would always tell me that if I don’t continue my education he’ll make sure I finish it. He would say if he has to come down from heaven he will and make sure I go to college and make a name for myself.  Every time I would go visit him he would be so proud of me when all tell him any little good thing happening in my life. When he found out my boyfriend name was Alfredo he told me “ Mija you have an amazing man that loves you, you know why?” I asked why, he said “ because he has an amazing name “ we laughed so hard. I’ll never forget his laugh, his laugh brought me happiness. He would call me his beautiful princess. Tio Junie every time I saw him he would say how beautiful I am, with him losing his eyesight I asked him once “ Tio how do you know “ he replied with “ by the touch of your face and your voice “ then he will go forward and feel my face, the voice part until this day I still don’t hear it. I told him “ Tio I sound like a man” he replied “ you’re a beautiful man “ then he will burst out laughing to the point he’ll start crying. Those little memories we shared together I’ll never forget, I’ll keep them with me forever. Tio Junie will forever be with me in my heart. I promised him that when I have kids he will meet them and I’m keeping my promise my kids will know who Tio Junie was. May you Rest In Peace Tio, thank you for all the years we spent together, all the laughs, all the hugs, and all of your amazing stories. I’ll see you soon my angel 🤍

Uncle Junie was sweet, loving and kind. I’m so glad my son Sebastian was able to spend time with him and work with him outside on his projects. He adored him, he always thought of him and always asked if we could bring him a treat anytime we would visit. We will miss you tío, thank you for always being so welcoming when we visited you and for spending quality time with my son.  May you rest in paradise.

Uncle Junie was such a sweet soul. He was an amazing self-taught brick layer. Everything he built was full of love and pride...My Grandmother loved her brother..now they are in Heaven together. Rest in peace Uncle.

Uncle Al was an inspiration and compassionate person to me, one who would work on the weekends, renovating and making additions to his home, after working 60hrs for the week.

I will always recall the great times, we had at Lofton and Coburn street, the bbq’s on weekends, when family and friends would gather on those warm summer evenings to visit.

Uncle Al was not only a hard working person, but a gentleman and a loving person
who loved his family. I remember when he helped show his brother (my Dad David Rodriguez) build a fireplace at mulberry street, Uncle Al was always there to help those he loved.

I can remember the stories Uncle Al would tell about when cousin Art fell in the Owens river as a little boy, and how my Dad David jumped in to save him from drowning.

Uncle Al, you showed me.. inspired me.. to go out, work hard, and to be compassionate to people, You will be missed, but always in my heart, and mind.

To my kind, loving, hardworking grandfather. I feel so blessed to have had him in my life for so long, even though it will never seem like enough time. I’ll never forget his loving hugs or his compassionate soul that will continue to shine through his children/grandchildren. A man that was truly kind, I remember growing up we stayed with him at one point during a move and I’m now so grateful for that time because I got to see how much he loved his animals and how giving he was to others. I know he’s watching over us being the guardian Angel we all need. He will be forever missed & not a day will go by that I don’t look for a sign that he still comes to visit.

My brother was a man of all seasons. He could build a house from top to bottom. His greatest passion was designing and building and did the most beautiful brickwork. He was a master at his craft and a meticulous craftsman with an amazing eye for detail. Junie had an amazing intellect, he surprised me with his knowledge of current events and loved talking politics. We always talked on the phone and he would never fail to make me laugh. My brother was a kind and gentle man who had such a joyful presence that will be greatly missed. When I look back on my life I will always remember the memories filled with laughter with my brother Junie. And I hope those memories will live on through the lives of his children and grandchildren. My Grandpa Al was very special to me. He was the best Grandpa ever!  He was always very much interested in the lives of all of his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. He would always ask about everyone and his memory was like an elephant. He never forgot anyone’s name. He never left anyone out. I’m going to miss visiting him and hearing his stories. He was so funny. He was always happy and he loved to laugh. Going to California won’t be the same without stopping by to visit Grandpa and taking him his treats like he used to do for me when I was a kid. He loved hearing my boys play the guitar for him. He listened to every detail of the song that was being played. He was so proud of all of us and was never afraid to tell us or show us how proud he was and how much he loved us. My grandpa Al was always there for us. One time he even drove an hour and a half to the epicenter of the big Landers quake to go pick us up because he was worried about us when we lived out there. He was so brave for doing that and he made me feel safe. He was the hardest working man that I’ve ever known. I learned a lot from him. I was always so inspired by him. He was so talented with his work and even after he lost his eye sight, he didn’t let that stop him from doing work. He enjoyed working and took pride in his creations. He will be missed by many. I thank God for putting my Grandpa in my life for as long as he did and I know I will see him again one day. 

I am very proud and honored to have taken the name of my Grandfather in whom I am Arthur Alfred Rodri
guez Jr. I have beautiful memories of my Grandfather “Grampa Al” as being one of the hardest working and loving men that I ever knew.  I had the pleasure of getting to be a part of his life through my childhood in which I will never forget. I was very lucky to have had the opportunity to learn a lot from this man and receive and feel the love that he gave in which I am a reflection of today. Though I didn’t get the time that I wanted with him, I am blessed to have had the time that I had. It was always a pleasure being in his presence because no matter what the mood or setting you always felt the love and happiness of his heart. He encouraged us to be all that we could and believed in us without a doubt. The love that he gave was a powerful and strong  light that continues to shine through many of us that he loved so very much. He was very very proud of his family and he did not come short in expressing that. Grandpa Al, you will be greatly loved and missed beyond words can express and we will carry on your legacy forever! I remember my uncle as a kid as one of the nicest uncles ever. I used to call him nino and he treated me like a godson. Our visits to my aunt and uncles house we’re always a great memory, from the music to the trips to the liquor store to get his  beer and some candy lol ... I’ll always have a great memory of him, may god bless his soul and he rest in Heaven 🙏🏼 God bless the Rodgrigez family! 

Brother I look out of the glass doors you installed every day and see the “crazy brick” pathway you laid. Everywhere I look I see the beauty your loving hands created.  You were an artist, a genius, a protector a loving brother. I’m sure God has you laying His brick and tile creating beauty everywhere in God’s home as in ours. Love you brother. 

I’ll always remember how much our Dad cared about all of us, and what a loving and hard working man he was. He was the wisest man I will ever know. He used to say if you’re not up by 6 in the morning you’re wasting the day. I will always remember him coming by to check on us to make sure that we were good. I miss him so very much,  my heart is hurting, I love you Dad, we’ll see each other again one day. Rest in Heaven my precious Dad. 

So much to say about my father inlaw. 
He was an amazing man  and a gentle  man,he had so much love and he give you whatever  he had.i loved hearing his stories  about his life and about his children. I was blessed to  have him as a father inlaw. I will miss him so much!!! Every time  he call Art he say how's my slave Driver and then he laugh 😆.  My heart breaks for the loss of a great Man .thank you God  for the time you allowed him to be with us and his children. Its not goodbye  its see you soon I love you.
