Steve was an inspiration to me. His Facebook posts could make my day and often did. He lived to bless others I know he did. May you his family be comforted. I am so sorry for you loss. Sam Morris, BHS class of 68

Our prayers are with you we will all miss him greatly, every time I walk by his office and don't see him I feel sad.

Steve was a good friend.  He affected more lives in a positive way than even he realized, and set a standard few of us will ever realize. His was a life well lived.  He is in our hearts always.

May your hearts soon be filled with wonderful memories of joyful times together as you celebrate a life well lived.

Sorry to hear of Steve's death my condolences to the family.

Steve will be missed. He was a mentor to many. I learned a lot from this special man.

To the family of Stephen D. Davis,  I am so sorry for your loss. I'm sure you will miss him dearly. Please find comfort in knowing one day we will see our loved ones again. John 6:40. Matthew 5:5.

Please accept my sincere condolences on the loss of your loved one. May prayers to the God of all comfort strengthen you in the days ahead. He promises, "I have heard your prayer. I have seen your tears. I am healing you." (2 Kings 20:5)

I worked with and around Steve at Rust for a number of years and he was always a considerate Christian gentleman.  He was pleasant at all times and always looking to work together for compromise.  The Lord promised, "For I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." ~ Jeremiah 29:11

Steve is resting comfortably with his Lord and Savior and I pray that the family takes comfort in that knowledge.

Steve was a great friend and great guy. We were looking forward to his tenure on the Board of Directors for the AFS Birmingham Chapter. A Fine Christian Man he will be missed. We are praying for the family

I went to T W Martin but also worked at Rust with Steve.  He was always such a pleasant man. My thoughts & prayers are with the family.

Steve Davis served with distinction on the Department of Mechanical Engineering External Advisory Board at the University of Alabama (Tuscaloosa) for a number of years.  We all grew to respect him as a person and especially his solid beliefs.  Over the years we became good friends and I will certainly miss his emails, FB posts and most especially his honest friendship.  He is in a much better place and waiting on us.  Rest in peace my friend.

Steve was just a pleasure to work with during our tenure at RUST.  Always pleasant and easy going.  My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and his many friends and co-workers.

I remember Steve from Rust.  We have been Facebook friends for sometime also.  He was a wonderful person and your family was blessed to call him yours!  Sibyl Patterson

This might seem unimportant or fickle, but it mattered to me so I thought I'd share it. Mr. Davis' participation in Facebook and social media was always intriguing to me. Whatever was going on, he was involved; liking, commenting, sharing. He wished me happy birthday every year, and I did the same for him. We would talk at church, but his interaction in my life was predominantly in cyberspace. I wish I had a record of how many times he liked my posts first. Once he liked something literally two seconds after I posted it. But to me it always showed he cared, and that he was interested in my life and what I had to say; it meant a lot as I consider him an intellegient man of God. Mom mentioned once about Mrs. Davis fussing that he was always on his phone or computer, but sometimes the things that seem to matter so little can impact so much. I will greatly miss Mr. Davis.

What a Godly man and good friend.  Heaven must be rejoicing right now.  Our prayers and thoughts are with you all at this time.

Bob and I have many precious memories of Steve that the Lord has allowed us to recall at any time and Rejoice. Even though we will miss him dearly, we certainly know that he is with our Lord. We are praying for Susan and the children and grandchildren that they have peace and hope knowing they will see him again one day in heaven.
