Reese Rutledge, 21, went home to be with the Lord on June 28, 2021. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Buddy Rutledge; and sister, Courtney Rutledge. He is survived by his parents, John Rutledge (Beth) and Kelli Schupp (Jim); sister, Madison Rutledge; grandmother, Ann Rutledge; grandparents, Larry and Jean Long; aunt, Tamar Thomas (Geoff); numerous cousins and friends.
Reese was an avid outdoors man who loved hunting, fishing, and golf. He had a big heart, especially for working with children with special needs. He graduated from Oak Mountain High School in 2018. He attended the University of South Alabama 2018-2019.
The family will host a visitation on Thursday, July 1, 2021 at 12pm at Elmwood Chapel Funeral Home, with a celebration of his life to follow at 2pm.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Cast for Kids or Catch A Dream Foundation.
