Rachel G. Rosenthal

Rachel Greenberg Rosenthal, age 82, passed away on January 16, 2020. She was a graduate of Howard College (Samford University) and attended the University of Alabama and Sophie Newcomb College. She was the owner of Backgrounds Interior Design in Homewood, AL.

She is proceeded in death by her beloved husband Dr. Vernon R. Rosenthal, her sister Reba G. Strauss and her parents Jacob and Gloria Greenberg. She is survived by her sister Sophie (Norman) Lepowher; children Bari (Russell) Love, Dr. Gary (Lori) Rosenthal and Allison J. Rosenthal. She was cherished by her seven grandchildren, Michael (Marianna) Love, Brian (Jenny) Love, Hannah (Bryce) Danielson, Dr. David (Dr. Kathleen) Rosenthal, Josh Rosenthal, Jack Rosenthal, and Leigh Rosenthal, and great-grandchildren Seth and Eli Love. She also had a great love for her nieces, nephews and many cousins.

The graveside service will be held at Elwood Cemetery, 600 Martin Luther King Jr Dr, Birmingham, AL 35211 at 1:00 pm on Sunday, January 19, 2020. Shiva will immediately follow at Temple Emanu-el, 2100 Highland Ave, Birmingham, AL 35205. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Temple Emanu-el in Birmingham or to any charity of your choice.
