Mary Ann Blankenship

Mary Ann (Prince) Blankenship January 15, 1932 to June 2, 2016 Born to James Preston & Josephine Effie (Hearn) Prince went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday June 2, 2016. Mary Ann graduated from West End High (Birmingham) in 1950. Mary Ann attended both Auburn University & the University of Alabama. Mary Ann worked as a legal secretary & later as the executive secretary to the V.P. of promotion & marketing for the Birmingham News. Mary Ann’s hobbies included: Cahaba Heights Garden Club, sewing, ceramics, cooking, needlework & taking care of her pets. Mary Ann was preceded in death by her parents & sister Bettye Prince. Mary Ann is survived by her loving husband William Rush Blankenship (Bill), daughter Karen Ann Blankenship, sons William Rush Blankenship Jr. (Nora), Brian Preston Blankenship (Patsy); several grandchildren & great grandchildren. Sister Marilyn Jo Moore. Special thanks to Rosalind Johnson for her loving care. Family will receive friends on Monday, June 6, 2016 from 10am to 11am at Elmwood Chapel Funeral Home with a Celebration of life to follow at 11am. Burial at Elmwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to St. Vincents hospice or charity of your choice.
