Martha Sue Raines, born July 15, 1923 to Reid and Myrtle Vernon, passed away Wednesday, October 4, 2017. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Othell Raines in 1994. Survivors include her sons: Joesph (Genevieve) of Shalimar, FL and Kenneth (Donna) of Bessemer, AL; three grandchildren and three great grandchildren; her sister, Ruth V. Cale of Hueytown, AL. Her graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, October 9, 2017 at Elmwood Cemetery. Arrangements under the direction of Johns-Ridout's Mortuary-Elmwood Chapel, Birmingham, AL.
