On Saturday, August 20,2002, Lucille Williams went home to be with her Savior and Lord at the age of 96 years at Health South Rehab & Nursing Center in Birmingham, Alabama. She was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Judy Carol Williams Hawkins, her parents, W.B. and Lola Frances Stricklin, her brothers, Dewitt P. “Dee” Stricklin, W. D. “Jack” Stricklin, and Hollis B. Stricklin, and her sisters, Gussie Dyer and Lorene Vaughn. She is survived by her loving husband, Dillard S. Williams, husband of 74 years and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and friends. Lucille was an active and much-loved member of her community and neighborhood at Meadowbrook Drive in Huffman/Roebuck. Lucille was a faithful member of Central Baptist Church in Tarrant, AL for over 60 years where she served in many capacities including the WMU and also taught the Senior Ladies Class. She was an amazing hostess, cook, and seamstress. She was also a long-time member of the Garden Club and loved her flower gardens. We would like to thank the staff at South Health and Rehab for their loving care during her last days. A visitation for Lucille will be held Friday, August 26, 2022 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Ridout's Trussville Chapel, 1500 Gadsden Hwy, Birmingham, AL 35235, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM.
