Louise Fitzpatrick McGough, 98, of Birmingham, Alabama, died Tuesday, September 27, 2022. She was the daughter of the late Thomas and Faustina Fitzpatrick and was a graduate of St. Clements School. She was a loving wife to the late James Monroe Adcock and William Patrick McGough. She was an active member of The Cathedral of Saint Paul, where she served as wedding director. She was also a Dame of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulcher of Jerusalem.
Lovingly known as 'Weezie' to her closest friends and family, she is survived by her son James Patrick Adcock (Jana Milford) of Boulder, Colorado and daughter Jennifer Adcock Shingler (John) of Greenwood, South Carolina. She has two grandchildren, John Monroe Shingler IV (Ashla) of Greenwood, South Carolina and Julia Elizabeth Shingler Burke (Sean) of New York, New York, as well as two great-grandchildren, John Monroe Shingler V and James Haskell Shingler.
A visitation will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, October 14 at Johns-Ridouts Funeral Parlors, 2116 University Boulevard in Birmingham. The funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 15 at The Cathedral of Saint Paul. Burial will follow at Roselawn Cemetery in Decatur.
Pallbearers will be James Patrick Adcock, John Monroe Shingler III, John Monroe Shingler IV, John Monroe Shingler V, George Casey Crawford, and Sean Gale Burke.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Cathedral of Saint Paul, 2130 3rd Avenue North, Birmingham, Alabama 35203.
