Joe Anthony Maniscalco, age 94 of Birmingham, AL passed away December 23, 2020. He was born March 6, 1926 in Birmingham, AL and was raised in East Thomas, across the street from the original St. Mark’s Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his parents Joe Maniscalco and Louise Catherine Salvaggio/Savage, his beloved wife Betty Jean Roberson and sweet daughter Mary Crystal.
He is survived by his sister Angelina Maria Maniscalco, his sons John W. Dendy Jr. (Barbara) of Cumming, GA, and Joe Michael Maniscalco (Kim) of Panama City, FL, his daughter Carol Ann Maniscalco Crandall (David) of Pelham, AL; his grandchildren Lynette Dendy Curtis (Bill) of Tifton, GA, Andrew Michael Maniscalco, PV2 Michael Anthony Maniscalco, Christina Crandall, and two great-granddaughters, PV2 Kylie Curtis, and Amelia Curtis.
He was a WWII Army Veteran. He was a dedicated member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Adamsville, AL. He retired at 73 from Central Paper Company in Homewood, AL.
Services will be held at Ridout’s Elmwood Chapel on Monday, December 28, 2020. Visitation is at 10:00am followed by Mass at 11:00am. Masks are mandatory.
