JO ANN (DUTCH) FREEMAN, 83 WENT TO BE WITH THE LORD ON WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 20, 2017. DUTCH WAS BORN ON THE LAST DAY OF FEBRUARY 1934 TO JOSEPH WARREN PADGETT AND ALMA SMITH ON HAPPY TOP ROAD IN TRAFFORD ALABAMA IN A HOUSE BUILT BY HER DADDY AND IN THE AREA SHE LOVED AS HER ROOTS. DUTCH MARRIED SAMUEL R (SAM) FREEMAN IN 1950 AND THEY SOON HAD THEIR TWO BELOVED SONS SAMMY AND WAYNE. DUTCH LIVED HER LIFE IN THE BIRMINGHAM AREA RAISING HER TWO SONS AND STAYING CLOSE TO HER FAMILY. FOR THE LAST YEAR DUTCH HAS SPENT MOST OF HER TIME WITH SON SAMMY AND HIS WIFE PAM ON JOURNEYS END IN ASHVILLE WHERE SHE WAS A BORN AGAIN MEMBER OF GREENSPORT BAPTIST CHURCH. SHE WAS PRECEDED IN DEATH BY HER BELOVED DADDY AND MOTHER, HUSBAND SAM, 1 SISTER, 3 BROTHERS AND MANY OTHER FRIENDS AND FAMILY THAT HAD TOUCHED HER LIFE. SHE IS SURVIVED BY HER SONS SAMMY (PAM) AND WAYNE (KAY); GRANDDAUGHTER TERRI FREEMAN-HORNSBY, GRANDSONS MICHAEL FREEMAN AND TYLER ALBRIGHT; GREAT GRANDSONS, JUSTICE CAULEY AND FOX FREEMAN; GREAT GRANDDAUGHTER ARYA FREEMAN AND MANY OTHER COUSINS, NIECES, AND NEPHEWS. WE ALSO WANT TO RECOGNIZE HER DEAR FRIENDS PEGGY BENTLEY AND ROSE REED AS WELL AS SPECIAL NIECE TINA HARDIN. SHE LOVED YOU ALL. THE FAMILY WILL RECEIVE FRIENDS ON FRIDAY, DECEMBER 22, 2017 FROM 1:00 – 2:00 P.M. AT ELMWOOD CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME WITH A GRAVESIDE SERVICE TO FOLLOW AT 2:00 P.M., AT ELMWOOD CEMETERY.
