Jerome B Sims

Jerome B Sims, age 84, passed peacefully at his home in Trussville Alabama on Friday, March 24, 2023 surrounded by loved ones. Jerome was born and raised in Delta Alabama, attended school at Jacksonville State and soon after moved to Birmingham, eventually finding his final home in Trussville. He was a caring Christian man, who never hesitated to help those around him and attended the Church at Ross Bridge. Jerome found his vocational calling as a State Farm insurance agent and delighted in helping others in the industry for over 57 years, but his real passion was family and of course Alabama football. He was preceded in death by his father Hartford C. Sims “Pop”, his mother Esther Mae Sims “Grandmother” and his daughter Mary Jennette Sims “Jenny”. He is survived by his wife Mary Helen Sims, his brother Frank Sims (Nell) of Delta, AL. , sons Lane Newton (Mandi) of Cummings, GA., Jon Sims (Ginger) Trussville AL. and Dane Sims of Moody Al., Grandchildren Michael Norton Jr. of Ranburne Al., as well as David Sims, Abby Sims, Natalie Newton and Hailey Newton, Great grand children Michael Norton III and Emma Eason (Micah) of Birmingham, Al., and a niece and nephew that were like his own children Beverly Sims and Jim Sims (Susie). May the Lord, keep you and hold you until we meet again, we love you Dad, always and forever.
