Gail George Morris

Gail George Morris Dec. 19, 1940 - Oct. 6, 2017 Gail George Morris, age 76, of Helena, AL went to be with the Lord on October 6th 2017. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Before moving to Helena she was a longtime resident of Midfield. She was a lifetime member of Hunter Street Baptist Church where she taught children’s Sunday School and was a choir member for many years. She was a 1958 graduate of Ensley High School. In 2002 she retired from Birmingham-Southern College after 18 years of service. She was preceded in death by her parents Ruben Ford and Marcile Nutt George and her grandparents Robert H. and Myrtle M. Nutt and Rube and Roberta George. Her survivors include her husband of 57 years, Johnnie Edwin Morris and her daughter Karen M. Coalson , (Son-in Law Tim), and son Kenneth S. Morris, (Daughter-in Law Joy) and a granddaughter Sarah Elizabeth A. Morris and a grandson, Kyle Taylor Coalson. Other survivors include her brothers Robert F. George, (Sister-in law Martha) of Birmingham, AL and David E. George, (Sister-in law Bunnie) of Hoover, AL and a sister, Linda G. Ball, (Brother-in Law Floyd) of Katy, TX and many nieces and nephews. Funeral will be Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Elmwood Chapel with visitation from 10-11 a.m. Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery.
