Erin Benson of Alabaster, Alabama, went home to be with the Lord on December 27, 2023. She was born on July 26, 1940 to Foster and Emily Clayton, who have preceded her in death. Erin is survived by her beloved husband of 62 years, Martin Benson; daughters, Marcia Bozeman and Jane Ann Godby; grandchildren, Craig Bozeman (Susie), Brent Bozeman, William Godby (Kelsey), Joseph Godby, Ashleigh Godby Avant (Tate); and great-grandson, Kittredge “Kitt” Godby.
Erin was a faithful member of the Saved By Grace Sunday School class at First Baptist Pelham, where she and her husband worship.
There will be a visitation on Saturday, December 29, 2023 from 11am until 12pm at Elmwood Chapel Funeral Home in the Maple Room. A graveside service will follow at Birmingham’s historic Elmwood Cemetery.
