Dorothy M. Sanderson

Dorothy McClendon Sanderson, a long-time resident of Birmingham, Alabama, passed away on May 23, 2019. She was born on August 23, 1923 in Cullman, Alabama, to Joseph Edward and Cora McClendon who preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death was her husband of 57 years, Dellie E. Sanderson, brothers Herman (Rose) McClendon and Earnest (Liz) McClendon. Leaving to cherish her memory are her sister-in-law, Ellen Sanderson and loving nieces and nephews. Mrs. Sanderson, retired from Dunn Construction Company. She was a long time member of Berney Points Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School classes and participated in other activities of her church. For the past year, Mrs. Sanderson resided at the Mitchell-Hollingsworth Rehab and Nursing Home. The family sends sincere appreciation to the nurses and staff for their loving care. Graveside services will be on Monday, May 27, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Elmwood Cemetery.
