Daniel Lloyd Bowers

BOWERS, DANIEL LLOYD, age 82 of Trussville, went home to be with Jesus on Tuesday, December 29, 2020 after a battle with Parkinson’s disease. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Mary Jane Allred and Penny Mann. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Carolyn Bowers; children, Carla Bowers, Lindsey Carruth (Paul), Danny Bowers (Melanie) and David Bowers (Stephanie); brothers, Argo Bowers, Sam Bowers (Connie), Mark Bowers (Barbara) and Richard Bowers (Kathy); sisters, Patsy Smith (Hugh), Barbara Rachels (Wayne) and Martha Brand; grandchildren, Courtney Nix (Joel), Callie Russell (Brandon), Mary Claire Carruth, Lauren Sansing (Andrew), Kate Edwards (Will), Bentley Bowers, Bailey Bowers and Brody Bowers; great-grandchildren, Junior Nix, Mabrey Nix, Paul Austen Nix, Grace Russell and Jane Russell; and numerous nieces and nephews. Lloyd retired as President of McCullough Oil Co. and was a longtime member of Rock Methodist Church. He has been a member of First Baptist Church of Trussville for the last 20 years. His favorite pastime was coaching his children and grandchildren in youth sports. His family will receive friends on Sunday, January 3, 2021 from 2-3 PM at First Baptist Church of Trussville with his service beginning at 3 PM. The service will be live streamed by First Baptist Church of Trussville. There will be a private burial at Jefferson Memorial Gardens at a later time. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Baptist Church of Trussville Benevolence Fund or the Big Oak Ranch.
