Chris Nelson

Chris, 56 of Trussville passed away peacefully Friday morning May 20, 2016 surrounded by his loving family. Chris found the Lord as a young man. He lived and worked in and around Trussville all his life. He was a self-taught drummer and played with several local groups.

Chris was a loving husband, dad, granddad, brother, son and friend. His passing leaves us with a yearning for that special smile of his.

His brother Bruce, his Uncle James, his cousin Pat and her son Jeremy along with his Nelson and Smith grandparents preceded him to the other side.

He is survived by his wife Felecia, her mother M. J.; his son Patrick (Tiffany); grandson Tyler and step grandchildren Addyson and Benton, Patrick’s mother Valerie and her sons Christian and Nathan; sisters Mona and Susan (Bobby); nieces Jalice (Chris), Hollye (Johnny), Virginia and Cera; nephews Michael (Cookie), T. R. (Michelle) and Andrew; grandnieces Summer and Maya; grandnephew J. B.; Uncle Don; Aunts June and Barbara; cousins Don (Nancy), Doug, Dan, Cindy, Cheryl and Bubba; parents Bob and Faye and a host of customers, coworkers, and friends.

Visitation will be Monday May 23, 2016 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Ridout’s Trussville Chapel. The funeral service will be Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Ridout’s Trussville Chapel.
