Carole Sue Wood

CAROLE SUE TINDALL BOWEN WOOD, of Birmingham, passed away Wednesday, September 7, 2022. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mildred and Woody Tindall; daughter, Mildred Carole Wood; and sister, Sylvia Palmer. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Robert “Bob” Wood; son, Robert Wood, Jr. (Tammy); brother, Tory Tindall; and many nieces and nephews. Carole was born in Kissimmee, FL and raised in Haines City, FL. She graduated from Haines City High School and furthered her education at Truett-McConnel College, Carson Newman College, Samford University, Jacksonville State University and the University of Alabama. She retired from teaching after spending time in Powder Springs, GA, Beaufort, SC, Huntsville, AL and Jefferson County, AL. Carole was a member of Kappa Delta Pi and Alabama Counseling Association. Her family will celebrate her life with visitation on Monday, September 12, 2022 from 12-1 at First Baptist Church of Trussville with her service beginning at 1:00. Burial will follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Men On Mission at First Baptist Church of Trussville, Truett-McConnel University in Cleveland, GA or Habersham Christian Learning Center in Cornelia, GA.
