Barbara Ann Buckner

( Wesley) Heaton of Woodlawn , Alabama in 1937. Passing from this life , she

moved to her heavenly home on Monday, November 14, 2016 .

Preceded in death by her sister , Brenda Black, she leaves behind her loving

husband of 61 years, Walter Jerome (Jerry) Buckner , Sr. , and their three children,

Jerry Ann Buckner Buchanan, Karen Buckner Bonham ( Eric) and Walter Jerome

Buckner , Jr. (Holly). Nonnie leaves five grandchildren , Joel Bonham ( Melissa) ,

Erin Todd (Robbie) , Dr. Ryan Buckner (Ellen), Maj. Adam Buchanan (Sona) , and

Robyn Buckner (Skylar); five great-grandchildren, Caleb Bang, Katie Bonham,

Ashley Bonham, Evelyn Grace Buckner, and Walter Davis Buckner ; nieces ,

nephews and loving sister/brother in-laws to cherish her memories.

Mom attended Gibson and Cunningham elementary school and Woodlawn

High School. Her membership at 25th Avenue Baptist Church and Fellowship

Missionary Baptist Church spanned decades. After moving to Trussville in 2013,

she attended Central Baptist Church. Simplicity described Mom , as did her love

of quiet times at home, flower arranging , pets , church and most of all her

family. Besides being the best babysitter on the whole planet, she showed love

and respect to everyone she met. Her smile , spirit and humor ........... priceless!

Our family wishes to express gratitude and deep appreciation for wonderful

loving friends , precious caregivers , St. Vincent's Health System , Hope Hospice ,

25th Ave. Baptist Church , Central Baptist Church, Calumet neighbors and all who

ministered and blessed us.
