Brenda Lee Taylor, 77, of Homosassa, FL, passed away on Thurs., March 7, 2024. A native of Toledo, OH, she was born Dec. 18, 1946 to Terrance and Barbara (Walter) Scott-Purcell, one of three children. Brenda moved to Citrus County in 2006 from Largo, FL, where she had lived for 30 years. Mrs. Taylor enjoyed a long 25 year career with Pinellas County Schools as a secretary/bookkeeper. During that time, she served in her position as a bookkeeper for Ridgecrest Elementary School, where her two daughters, Shawna and Janelle, were attending school. A believer of The Lord Jesus Christ, she spent much of her faith as a member of First Baptist Church of Crystal River. After the passing of her husband, she spent some time doing bible studies at Gulf To Lake Baptist Church. For the last year, she had been attending Jesus Disciples Fellowship. Brenda loved crafting and making homemade greeting cards for friends and family. She was a part of several crafting groups, Fiskateers and Stamping Up in Florida. Also in her younger years Mom loved Daniel Steele books and mystery novels while in the later years, she enjoyed Joyce Meyer books and conferences and continued reading until her eyes started to get bad. Then she downloaded audio books. Mrs. Taylor love listening to rhythm and blues, and loved watching Family Feud with her late husband Robert, who passed away in 2018. Robert and Brenda even attended a live taping once because that was “their show”. Brenda’s typical day would be waking up to a cup of coffee and it had to be hot and black, because that’s how she liked it. She had a certain schedule of activities to do on her tablet including her daily “good morning/night” social media posts, groups and games. Word games were her forte and spending time with her grandchildren was the light of her life. On a perfect day, she would want to be surrounded by all she loved and loved her. She always enjoyed her yearly condo stay and absolutely loved going out to eat with friends and family. Above all, her best day would involve spending as much time as possible with all of her family. In addition to her parents and husband Robert, she was preceded in death by her sister Patty Webster and brother Mike Scott and his wife Patsy Scott. Brenda is survived by her two daughters, Shawna Page and Janelle Ehrhart; her grandchildren Nathan, Rylan, and Joshua, as well as her brothers Terry and Greg Scott. Friends will be received on Sunday, April 7, 2024 from 2:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. at Fero Funeral Home & Life Celebration Center, 5955 N. Lecanto Highway in Beverly Hills, where a Celebration of Life will commence at 3:00 P.M. with Pastor Tim Lantzy of First Baptist Church of Crystal River officiating. www.ferofuneralhome.com
