Anthony Xavier Fanelli, 92 of Hernando, Florida passed away on Saturday, December 31, 2011 in the loving care of his family and Hospice of Citrus County. He was born on Wednesday, May 7, 1919 in Greenwich, New York to Frank William and Johanna (Palintano) Fanelli. Mr. Fanelli was reitred after 30 years as a salesman with Cantor Building Supply Company in New York and moved to this area in 1990 from Long Island, New York. Anthony was of the Catholic faith, a veteran of WWII serving as a staff sergeant with the U.S. Army and a member of the American Legion. He enjoyed golfing and was the former president of the Sugarmill Woods Association Enclave; inspiring and organizing many of the members to assist in numerous projects for the community. Anthony proudly decorated his home in the Tuscan style and landscaped the exterior to perfection.
Mr. Fanelli was preceded in death by his brother, Joseph Fanelli and sister, Mary Maffia.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Josephine (Iadone) Fanelli and many dear friends.
