June Tucker

June attended Muskogee High School and after graduating went to OSU for 1 year. She then transferred to OU. While attending OU she was in the Pi Beta Phi sorority. She graduated in 1947. She went to work at Southwestern Bell as a Directory Sales Clerk. She was employed there for 17 years. Later in life she was employed at Presbyterian Hospital in Central Services. She married Tom, her spouse of 57 years on July 6, 1953. They had two children, Thomas Paul Tucker and Janet Alyce Tucker.June enjoyed playing the piano. There were numerous times she would entertain the family by playing the piano and singing for them. June was very involved in her grandkids life, Jessica and Josh. They were such a joy to her and she had a huge impact on their life. June volunteered for Mobile Meals and enjoyed delivering food to the shut ins. She always enjoyed helping people. People always commented, “how sweet she was,” even all of her nurses and caretakers before death.

June is preceded in death by her parents Paul and Ethel Loy, Spouse Tom, and son Paul.

She is survived by daughter Janet, grandchildren: Jessica, Josh, Jason, Jonathan, and Chris. Her great-grandson Isiah was born in July of 2011. She didn’t have very much time with him, but everytime she saw him she would just light up and smile! She loved him dearly and kept her going! Sister- in- laws Neomia Tucker, Edith Thorn, Dorothy Wyskup and a host of other loved family members and friends. June will truly be missed by all. We Love You!

Visitation will be held Monday, March 26, 2012 from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, March 27, 2012 at 2:00 pm at Bill Merritt Memorial Chapel. Interment to follow at Resurrection Memorial Cemetery.
