John P. Harder

John Phillip Harder, age 46 of Oklahoma City, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 27, 2014. He was born August 6, 1968 in Chicago, IL, the son of Robert and Carol Harder. He was the youngest of 8 children, sharing the same birth date with his oldest brother, Mike. John loved his family and his kids and he was a strong believer in our Lord Jesus Christ. He lived with passion and devotion to his Lord. He loved to help people and reached out to people in his apartment complex before he got ill. He joined with his sister and brother in a ministry called Curbside Calling, witnessing to the homeless on street corners in Oklahoma City and providing them with food, encouragement and prayer. He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Carol Harder. He is survived by his brothers, Mike Harder and wife, Suzy of Roundlake Beach, Illinois, Larry Harder of Brookings, OR, Barbara Spillman and husband, Joe of Midwest City, David Harder and wife, Kelly of Oklahoma City, Susan Wright and husband, Ellis of Blanchard, Rosemary Harder of Oklahoma City, and Cynthia Lewis and husband, Jeff of Edmond. He is also survived by his long time love, Samantha and their 3 children, Bronson, Tabitha and Daniel Simpson, Oklahoma City. Services will be held at Bill Merritt Funeral Home in Bethany, OK at 2:00p.m. Thursday, October 2. Burial will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
